JP Hoedown Event Photos

Big thanks to the Tom Foolers and Humble Tripe and to everyone who came to see our window show.  I've always loved the windows in the shop and it's so fun to see them put to such good use. The music sounded fantastic bouncing off the old ceiling & we can't wait to do it again when the air is warm and the doors are open.

A Jonny Herbert Original

One of my favorite dresses in the shop is this 1950s Jonny Herbert Silk Taffeta Navy party dress. With a 27" inch waist it's an average size. Need an event dress, be the talk of the room in this beauty. Excellent condition. Jonny Herbert Dresses sell regularly for upwards of $175, ours is less. Shop local for less.

We had so much fun dressing up the shop for this event

The stars aligned last Saturday when we got to participate in 'Loves Scenes' a wedding photography exhibit hosted by Edana Spicker, Real Estate Agent right next door at 68 South Street. The morning feature was a champagne brunch showcasing the work of 6 local photographers and the fine skills and wears of several local JP businesses.

The most fun for us was dressing up the shop, showing off a gorgeous window display, gussying up the dame girls as live models in antique dresses and fabulously styled out hair and makeup by Lisette of Styling by Lisette. If you're getting married, know someone who is or just interested in a glamorous look, we have something here for you.

The second best part was meeting some great folks, talking shop and conspiring on some ideas for future events. There was some beautiful work next door that you should definitely check out. The photography will be on display for the entire month of February.

I'm sorry that I didn't get to see everyone's work, but here are the ones that I managed to take in, while working next door:

Allana Taranto is a wedding and portrait photographer with a personal interest in boudoir photography.

Allison Evans
has been profiled by the knot and also specializes in photographing jewelry. She also took some great shots of the store.

Liz Linder
I just loved her work to pieces.

Participating businesses included:
- Mionetto's "il" Proseco courtesy of Blanchards Wines & Spirits
- Oysters from the yummy new raw bar at Bon Savor
- Baked goods from Fiores
- Live modeling and vintage wedding wear courtesy Dame Vintage

We'd love your Vote!

We received a surprise editorial pick last year in the Phoenix's Best of Boston 2009. It was a fantastic way to start off having been open only a month. This year we would LOVE it to pieces if you'd help get us on the map. Please nominate Dame Vintage for Best Vintage in Boston if you so choose. The nomination just gets us on the list. And it would be an honor to just have a shot in our second year. But it's up to you!

Thanks

Cabin Fever?

Sponsored by the folks who bring you the South End Open Market. A selection of highly curated work all by local designers that we know and love. Several Designers who show their work at Dame will be selling their goods at the event. It's timed to coincide with the South End Open Studios on Friday night and you can bet I'll be there to shop.
